Neighbourhood Research
A reproducible Calgary Transit schedule query for Monday, October 26, 2026, using four named boarding stops and a City Hall station reference. These are scheduled vehicle examples, not neighbourhood commute times.

A stop on a map does not tell you whether a particular journey works. Check the exact boarding stop, service date, departure time, destination stop and any connections. This example asks for the first qualifying scheduled departure between 08:00 and before 09:00 on Monday, October 26, using Calgary Transit's America/Edmonton timetable.
The Beltline, Bridgeland/Riverside and Bowness boarding stops below have qualifying same-trip departures to a stop within 400 metres in a straight line of the westbound City Hall/Bow Valley College platform. The selected Cranston stop has no qualifying departure in this query. That does not mean Cranston has no transit or no journey with connections. These four fixed stops are examples, not a representative sample or a neighbourhood travel-time ranking.
| Area / fixed boarding stop | Qualifying departures in hour | First departure / route | Scheduled arrival | Arrival stop | Vehicle time only |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beltline: EB 12 AV SW@ 5 ST SW (stop 5181) | 2 | 08:01 / 90 | 08:10 | EB 5 AV SE @ Macleod TR (stop 5252; 192 m straight line from reference) | 9 minutes, scheduled |
| Bridgeland/Riverside: WB Bridgeland - Memorial CTrain Station (stop 8567) | 12 | 08:04 / 202 | 08:09 | WB City Hall/Bow Valley College (Free Fare Zone) (stop 6822; 0 m straight line from reference) | 5 minutes, scheduled |
| Bowness: Bowness Terminal NW (stop 5027) | 3 | 08:15 / 1 | 09:11 | EB 9 AV @ Macleod TR SE (stop 9802; 226 m straight line from reference) | 56 minutes, scheduled |
| Cranston: WB Cranston DR @ Cranston BV SE (stop 2123) | 0 | No qualifying same-trip departure | Not established by this query | Connections and other boarding stops not searched | Not estimated |
The example chooses the first qualifying departure, not the fastest possible journey. Different boarding and arrival stops, walking routes, waiting, transfers, mobility requirements and service disruptions can change an actual trip. No home-to-stop walking time, door-to-door journey time, fare, accessibility guarantee or real-time prediction is calculated here.

The feed's service calendars span October 13–December 20, 2026; the requested Monday has 3 active service identifiers after calendar exceptions. The ZIP SHA-256 is fc11f07852e09f26eb809e9c93994ee835900b3c3c244cd8b5c29978dea0ef1e. Portal update metadata is not used as proof that a service day is covered.
The four boarding-stop coordinates were checked with PostGIS ST_Covers against the official City of Calgary BLN, BRD, BOW and CRA polygons used in our housing research. All four fall inside their named official area. This verifies the stop-point geography, not whether a home is near that stop. Bridgeland/Riverside remains a combined official area, distinct from the existing Bridgeland profile boundary.
Methodology: calgary-fixed-stop-direct-schedule-v1. Apply calendar.txt weekday/date ranges, then calendar_dates.txt additions and removals. Match exact stop IDs, active service IDs and increasing stop sequence within the same GTFS trip. Allow ordinary scheduled pickup/drop-off only. Require explicit times; do not interpolate missing values. Hours beyond 24 remain on the GTFS service-day timeline. Frequency-based feeds require a separate method. 0 relevant stop-time events lacked a usable explicit arrival or departure and were excluded.
Count qualifying departures at each fixed boarding stop in the one-hour window. For each departure, select the first downstream scheduled arrival at an eligible destination stop, then show the earliest qualifying departure. The destination set is every feed stop within 400 metres in a straight line of stop 6822; this radius is a selection rule, not a measured walking route. Transfer journeys and same-vehicle trips that change GTFS trip ID are outside this query.
This is a frozen example prepared October 25 for the named service day. Consult the operator's current timetable and service notices for a real journey. Later feed changes must be evaluated as a new dated observation; the four examples do not establish a transport trend or the best area to buy.
